Children Of Abraham - Judaism, Christianity, Islam
Contributed by: Paul Feiger on 11/20/2006

Studying Judaism, Christianity and Islam with the Rabbi:

These days it's harder than ever to sort out what is behind the three great monotheistic religions that descended from the original covenant between God and Abraham. What does Judaism, Christianity, and Islam have as their core beliefs? How are they similiar and how do they conflict? What are their central scriptures and basic stories? How are they similar and how different? What is the history of their development and interaction with one another? How has all of the above lead to the conflicts of the last 2000 years and the conflicts of today?

We will try to sort all this out in three classes to take place on Thursday evernings, from 7-8:30PM on December 7, 14, and 21. The specific schedule of subjects:

Dec. 7: Introduction, History and Basic Stories of the Three Traditions.
Dec. 14: Holy Books: Tanach, New Testament and Qur'an
Dec. 21: Basic Beliefs - Why They Clash & What About the Future?

All classes to be held at:
Temple Ner Ami
4098 Calle Tesoro, Suite D
Camarillo
Call (805) 388-3824 for reservations

The suggested donation is $15 for Temple members and $30 for non-members, with scholarships freely granted. Please RSVP to the office or Rabbi Lotker ( Lotker@aol.com) to reserve your seat or for more info.
