Padre Serra Volunteers Give Back to Sr. Carol
Contributed by: Luc Papillon on 2/27/2007

On Saturday February 24, the Men's Fellowship of Padre Serra's Catholic Church, came together to remediate Sister Carol Quinlivan's home in Camarillo.

Each volunteer brought with him a smile, a good word, and a willingness to help wherever necessary to return real love displayed so often by Sr. Carol to so many.

Thanks to Don Vanasse and his team who spent all day on Friday preparing so we could continue, the balance of the volunteers were able to hit the ground running at 8AM on Saturday.

Twenty three gallons of paint later, at least a dozen brushes and rollers, hundreds of feet of masking tape, new lighting, and enthusiasm by 15-20 volunteers culminated into a great looking house at the end of the day. Led by Glenn Olsen, the final result was tremendous and well accepted upon Sr. Carol's return from a weekend retreat.

Much work remains to bring the house back to its original splendor of the 50's. It was even suggested by some of the volunteers that this may be a good opportunity to have a second showing of the weekend to continue with repairs to backyard benches, additional lighting, landscaping and fencing. "We should adopt this house", stated another volunteer.
