Do you receive a lot of junk mail? Most Americans receive over 50 pounds each year... Junk mail isn't just annoying, 100 million trees are used every year to produce it. Please read that last sentence again and let it sink in for a moment. WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT WOOD TO BUILD THINGS, WE ARE JUST TALKING ABOUT JUNK MAIL. Each year 28 billion gallons of water also go into the production of junk mail. Visualize that, too.
Tired of thinking and want to do your part to reduce the waste, and lessen the burden of your mail carrier? For a dime a day, GreenDimes will reduce your junk mail by 75 to 90 percent and plant trees in your honor.
Sure, you could go to the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) web site all by yourself, but this organization, for a minor fee of $15, provides you with all the lists, postcards, and web sites with easy links to remove your name from just about every junk mail sender, and will send you a kit to handle the rest, like those baby catalogues you were once interested in, but now don't even open.
Even those pesky "resident" and "occupant" mailers will stop coming, and you will find more green facts to amaze and impress your friends. Hey, that tree is a really nice gesture too, so stop complaining about all the junk mail you have to lug to the trash. Log on, pay the small fee, and get it all taken care of. Save the earth and your sanity.
