This heart-warming e-mail came in from an acquaintance, Heidi Bernhard. She said, "I wanted to share a story with you.
"My husband left me two months ago. My 11 year old son and 7 year old daughter and I were having a pretty hard time. We moved into an apartment last month, and it was really hard for me to feel the "Christmas Spirit" this year."
But something unexpected transpired. A series of wonderful happenings, she said. "Nearly every day in December we have gotten a present at our front doorstep with a nice poem or note about Christmas. The notes are signed the 'Christmas Pixies'. They have been very nice giftsand notes that remind us that someone is thinking about us and to also teach us the true spirit of the season, to serve others as Jesus Christ did.
"I wanted to know if you would share with others that the Chrismas spirit is still alive and also to say a big THANK YOU TO THE CHRISMAS PIXIES! They have truly made our holiday!"
This touching tale timeless is any day of the year. So may the pixies and others ike them who look out for each other in this global community of neighbors provide similar help today, tomorrow, all of 2008 and beyond. Happy New Year.
