All pioneer wannabes are welcome to join the old-time fun at the Stagecoach Inn Museum Pioneer Jamboree, Saturday June 9 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event will feature 17 "hands-on" activities for children, including gold panning; butter churning and hand laundry, rock painting, fossil digging, pioneer games, cornhusk doll making, Chumash games, storytelling, school lessons and calligraphy. Hot dogs, drinks and cookies will be sold by Boy Scout Troop 730. Special guests are toymaker Gene West and his wonderful hand-made wooden action toys, the Boney Mountain Mamas musical group, Larry Ullman and his daughter playing the banjo and violin, weavers and spinners, a book-maker, a quilter and a tatter. More than 50 docents and almost 20 junior docents will be involved, so come on down!
