Mai's Café and Da Aloha Lounge is proud to announce they have booked Hawai'i's legendary stand up comic Andy Bumatai for a two show laff-fest on July 27 th and 28 th.

For nearly 30 years, Andy Bumatai's island-style comedy has provided a humorous perspective on local culture for residents and visitors alike to Hawai'i. Bumatai has opened for Tom Jones, Paul Anka, Kenny Loggins, The Temptations, The Beach Boys Natalie Cole and comic Paul Rogriquez in several Las Vegas showrooms, including CaesarsPalace and Bally's. He is a veteran actor appearing on television and the big screen.

Bumatai's July comedy show in Ventura comes just in time for SoCal residents as he starts his own nightly television talk show in Honolulu in August. "This will probably be my last road show this year," he said over the phone from Honolulu, "my talk show will keep me busy in Hawai'i for a while."

Andy's award winning DVD shows and CDs will be available after each show. Andy's website: www.andybumatai.com

Island transplant and comic Kamaka Brown, a protégé of Bumatai is featured on the show as well. Brown lives in Ventura and regards Bumatai as his mentor and the reason he started stand up comedy in Hawai'i in the early 90's. "Andy over the years coached, encouraged and supported many comics like myself starting out in the business in Hawai'i," Brown said. "Watching Andy work his audience is nothing short of comic genius." Brown hosts an open mic for comics at Da Aloha Lounge in Mai's Café on Main Street on Monday evenings. Brown has appeared at the Comedy Store, Ice House, Ha Ha Café, and showrooms in Las Vegas and Honolulu.

Tickets for the shows are $25 with a two drink minimum. The show will be family friendly. Mai's Café and Da Aloha Lounge are at 2815 East Main, Mid-town Ventura. Call 805-558-1039 for ticket and show information.
