Moorpark - The Moorpark College Performing Arts Center and The Moorpark College Theatre Arts, Music and Dance programs will be presenting A Holiday Extravaganza which will include the original comedy "The List" along with music and dance presentations as a fundraising benefit for the Performing Arts Center on Sunday, December 16, 2006 @ 7:00pm . Written and directed by Los Angeles playwright, Johnny Cho and directed by Theatre Arts faculty member John Loprieno, "The List" will feature performances by professional actors Nick Amado, Patricia Rigney and Adrian Colon. Admission to this endearing one-act holiday comedy includes a wine and cheese reception in the theatre lobby with holiday improv, music and dance performances provided by the Moorpark College Theatre Arts, Music and Dance students. Tickets for this event are $16.00 for adults, $9.00 for seniors and Moorpark Faculty and Staff and $8.00 for students and children.

"The List" tells the story of a disgruntled father, Keith, who travels to the North Pole to find out exactly why his son has made it onto the infamous "naughty list" as he seeks to correct this obvious error. He doesn't get very far as he's greeted by Santa's receptionist and legal representative. After several hilarious twists and turns, Keith begins to realize that the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree and that perhaps he himself is the answer to granting his son a reprieve and a shift to the "nice list."

"The List" was originally produced by Fran Montano at the Actor's Workout Studio in Los Angeles. "Johnny is an incredible writer and we're very fortunate to be mounting his play at the college this year," says Loprieno. "This year our Dance department has come on board to join Theatre Arts and Music. This is truly a full Performing Arts collaboration that promises to be one of the highlights of the holiday season. This one night performance will benefit the Moorpark College PAC and all proceeds will go towards keeping our wonderful facility maintained and up to date. It's the perfect way to usher in the holidays!"
