For What it's Worth

For what it's worth, this blog will contain issues or events that I care about. I grew up in Oxnard and have lived in Hueneme, Ventura and Antelope Valley, CA. There is a lot of good to be found in Ventura County; a lot of things that are done right. Of course, there are still things that could be done better; need a little improvement. Let's blog about it.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I know you're all aware of breasts and cancer, but you may not be aware of what you can do to help erradicate this number 2 killer of women.

I have been training for the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Breast Cancer 3-day Walk being held this November in San Diego. My gorgeous, wonderful Grandma Perky is a survivor and I'm proud to walk in her honor. I'll be walking 60 miles over 3 days. I'm up to walking 14 miles a day 4-5 days a week atVentura Beach, but I need your help with fundraising.

I have agreed to raise the REQUIRED minimum of $2200. This money will go toward research for a cure as well as patient care for those who cannot afford it, and sadly, many people can't afford health care.

I need to raise a lot more money this month and I desperately need your help. If 140 people donate just $10, I will meet my goal. We are required to raise$2200, or withdraw before the event (which I am loath to do), or pay for it ourselves (which I cannot afford to do).
