To tie in with the Day of the Dead celebration that is so important in Mexico and other Latin American communities, our docent group at the Olivas Adobe will present a program to honor that special day. Sadly, most people who are non-Hispanic in our community do not appreciate the importance of this holiday.
Doug Friedlander, who is a fellow docent, is also a puppeteer. He has created a special puppet performance called "Day of the Dead". We will give two free performances on October 27 & 28 at 1 pm and 2:30 pm. Doug makes his own puppets and sets, and the public can be assured that the puppet show will be both magical and entertaining for both children and adults. After or before the performance, visitors are welcome to take a docent guided tour of the grounds and casa grande. There is also a gift shop that sells many unique gifts found nowhere else.
The site for this performance is at the Olivas Adobe Exhibit Hall, which is located 4200 Olivas Park Drive. For information call 642-2758 or check the Olivas Adobe web page at

Look forward to seeing you there.
