HOW THE JEWS WON THE WEST

The Jewish Genelaogical Society of the Conejo Valely and Ventura County (JGSCV) will hold a general meeting, co-sponsored with Temple Adat Elohim, on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Temple Adat Elohim 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

The Topic:

"HOW THE JEWS WON THE WEST:

How the Documentation of Western Jewish History Began, and Why This Is Such a Hot Topic Today."

The Western States Jewish History Journal documents theearly life of Jewish pioneers, the contributions Jews have made to the settlement of the West, their impact on cultural, political and economic life.

Guest Speaker: Gladys Sturman, publisher and editor of Western States Jewish History Journal, an academic quarterly journal in its 40 th anniversary year. Mrs. Sturman, has a degree in Jewish History from the University of Judaism and was selected as their outstanding alumna in 2006. She is a multi-award winner and author and an active participant in the Los Angeles Jewish Community for over 49 years.

The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County is dedicated to sharing genealogical information, techniques and research tools with anyone interested in Jewish genealogy and family history.

There is no charge to attend the meeting. Anyone may join JGSCV. Annual dues are $25 for an individual and $30 for a family.
