SENSORY NIGHT JUMPED INTO SUCCESS AT PUMP IT UP!!
Contributed by: Anil Aggarwal on 6/19/2007

The Kids with special needs, their siblings and families had a great time during the inaugural private play session Pump It Up of Ventura on June 11th.

Nothing can prepare you for the joy and the emotions you feel when you see a child with special needs who suddenly smiles, or says something, or makes eye contact with you. Emotions can overwhelm you when you see a special needs child happy and excited. Kids with special needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder love the feel, touch, and colors of the huge Inflatables at Pump It Up. We at Pump It Up are fortunate to experience this on a regular basis. Come and experience it for yourself!!!

Join us for the PRIVATE SENSORY JUMP NIGHTS at Pump It Up of Ventura; this general admission play session is ONLY opened for kids with special needs, their siblings and families. We started this program on June 11 th, 2007. The program was not only a great success but due to overwhelming requests we have increased the frequency of this program. Effective July this session will be scheduled from 5:30pm - 7:30pm every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month. 20% of the proceeds from these sessions will be donated to Ventura County Autism Society. We can accommodate up to 70 kids in our 2 play arenas. We are currently working with professionals of a large, well known organization to do presentations during one of the Private Sensory Jump Night which will provide invaluable information to the parents and families who have kids with special needs.

We hope to see you for our Private Sensory Jump Night on Monday July, 2nd and July 16th.

Parents of kids with special needs have told us that our inflatable appease the sensory of their kids who love being at Pump It Up. Kids and their families have been frequent visitors at Pump It Up of Ventura since we opened our doors 3 years ago (Feb, 2004). We support the joy in all children and believe that this program will provide the kids with special needs and their families the great opportunity to have fun in a private, supervised, indoor facility. This will also allow parents to share their experiences and information while the kids have fun.

We wish to create a place and program for kids with special needs and their families where kids can have FUN, while parents can meet and share information, and create support groups. As more people learn about this program we at Pump It Up are prepared to increase the duration and frequency of this program.

If you are a professional who works with special needs kids including kids with Autism Spectrum Disorder and wish to present your products or services please call 805-654-1417 to speak to Anil. We encourage you to come to these sessions and do educational presentation for the parents.

We have been trying for a while to put such a program together, and in March of 2007 it became a possibility when Pump It Up combined its forces with Autism Society of America. We are committed to raise awareness and funds for the ASA (Autism Society of America). To kick off our partnership with ASA we sold fundraiser balloons and hosted a fundraiser on Wednesday, April 25th at Pump It Up and raised over $1000 for ASA.

We would like to thank Jennifer McNulty (president ASA Ventura), Kathi Nye (treasurer & founder ASA Ventura), Marcia Eichelberger (president ASA Santa Barbara), Donelle Woleslagle (Inclusive Education & Community partnership), Rico and Mambo (103.3 The Vibe -morning show) and many more for their ongoing support and suggestions.
