The letter opened with the following line: "Congratulations! Your posting on YourHub.com was randomly selected to win dinner for four at Ruby's Cafe in Oxnard." I was delighted about the news that I was the one to win the prize from among the many people who post to the Oxnard version of YourHub.com on a regular basis. My various YourHub contributions include community, nonprofit, civic, and church news among other events and activities. To be honest, I was excited to be recognized for my efforts.
Although I was selected as the winner this past April, it was not until recently that I had the opportunity to finally use the certificate to go to dinner at Ruby's Cafe. I was excited, because I had been to the restaurant once before for Salsa Night dancing and I had heard fromseveral people that the food served there was delicious.
So with much anticipation I, along with two other people, ventured to Ruby's Cafe on a Friday evening after work. The restaurant's Food and Beverage Manager, Manuel Plasencia, was our waiter for the evening. When I informed him that I had a certificate for dinner because I was the winner of the YourHub.com contest, he congratulated me and seemed eager to make sure I had apleasant dining experience. The service wasgreat and the food was excellent. I will certainly visit Ruby's Cafe again in the near future. I would like to thank the YourHub.com staff and the nice folks at Ruby's Cafe.
