The Ventura County Area Agency on Aging is seeking new bidders and service providers to add to its list of eligible organizations to be notified of upcoming requests for proposals and bids. The agency's funding cycle for FY 2007-08 grant programs will commence in late April. There is a
particular need for licensed general contractors able to provide minor home modifications. Active, semi-retired or retired contractors are invited to join our e-mail opportunity notification list. There is also a special need for
door-to-door transportation providers able to transport persons with and without disabilities to destinations within Ventura and to/from major medical facilities in Los Angeles counties;
personal care, homemaker and chore providers; bill paying services; and
therapeutic counseling services for grandparents raising grandchildren. This is a call for
new organizations; thus, current grantees and organizations already on the e-mail list do
not need to respond. To view a list of the types services funded, please view the current service provider list on-line at

Eligible organizations are public agencies, nonprofit and for-profit organizations that are able to provide services in Ventura County to persons aged 60 years and older.
Individuals are
not eligible. Note: An award of funds to a for-profit organization must be approved by the California Department of Aging before a contract can be issued.
Proposals and bids will be accepted only in response to specific requests for proposals or bids that have been issued by the Area Agency on Aging.
Grant awards can be for four years or less depending upon the program. The agency's primary funding sources are the Older Americans Act and Older Californians Act. Organizations wanting to be added to the distribution list are asked to call (805) 477-7305, or e-mail
