Assemblymember Pedro Nava hosts "Operation Gobble" Event with California American Water
Frozen Turkeys Donated to FOODShare, Inc. for
Needy Families in Ventura County
Oxnard- The holidays for 100 Ventura County families will be a little brighter because California American Water and Assemblymember Pedro Nava teamed up as part of "Operation Gobble" on Monday, November 19, 2007. Helping to unload the 100 turkeys delivered by California American Water to FOODShare, Nava expressed thanks for their generosity and for the hard work performed day in and day out by the staff at FOODShare of Ventura County.
"When California American Water learned there were families in Ventura County that needed a little help these holidays, they called my office. I have worked with FOODShare in the past and knew they would be able to get this food to deserving families. FoodShare provides food to about 38,000 people every month and do a great job," said Nava.
"When a Community Comes Together, Miracles Happen" said Sandy Bishop President and CEO of FOOD Share.
"Operation Gobble," a Thanksgiving program designed to assist needy families in the community, was started in 1990 in partnership with California American Water and the California Water Association.
