The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West will be performing a free concert of standard band literature at Oceanview Pavilion located at 575 East Surfside Drive, Port Hueneme, California 93041. The concert will be from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on May 17th 2007.
The concert will focus on a variety of styles from traditional wind ensemble repertoire, patriotic music, marches and outstanding solos. The band will be lead by Captain Michael Mench. Commander of the Band of the Golden West.
The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West is stationed at the Travis Air Force Base in California. As the only remaining active duty Air Force band West of the Rockies. It's geographic area of responsibility includes Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho and California. The Band of the Golden West has performed for gubernatorial inagurations with guest artists such as Toni Tennile, Marvin Stamm and Bob Hope. As well as performed for the fans of Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers. The band has been seen and heard by thousands in performances throughout it's touring region so come out and join us. Listen to the music soar throughout the night as The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West takes the pilot seat and flies us through a wonderful perfomance. We hope to see you there!
