Many of you have read my articles regarding our local boxing talent. For this story I wanted to share my thoughts and mainly my photos on the 14th Annual Oxnard Salsa Festival. This is one event that I really look forward to every year. This is an event the definately puts Oxnard on the map. People travel from all over the state just for this event. Once again they were not disappointed. The event has grown so much that in the future they will need to close off more streets just to accomodate the huge crowds and many vendors. What was really exciting this year was the dance contest "Salsa Dancing with our Local Stars. They included John Crombach, our Chief of Police, Bob Allen co-host of KVTA's A.M. Drive Time, Gretchen Macchiarella of Studio805, Nancy Rodriquez co-host of Q104-7's Clubhouse Morning Show, Santiago Romero also of q104-7's airwaves and Regina Ruiz on-the-spot field reporter for KEYT News. Boy, what a performance they put on and they did it all in the name of charity. This years event was HOT,HOT,HOT.. The only regret is that its held only once a year........ Until next time Oxnard, Adios......

Hi Manuel Doing a google search for "Oxnard Salsa Festival" to see where we're listing (so I can update for 2008). I came across this great article. So glad that you enjoy the festival. That means a lot to me and everyone involved. Ruth Ballin Festival Director
