Performances To Grow On will open it's season of educational outreach performances with the thrilling production of Birdhouse Factory on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Fred Kavli Theatre, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd, Thousand Oaks. Featuring alumni of Cirque du Soleil and The Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe, Cirque-Works Birdhouse Factory is a place where acrobatics and early 20th century machines come together. The performance is a breathtaking display of acrobatics, dance, music and visual effects that has brought audiences to their feet across the country. Suitable for grades K-12, this performance is not to be missed!
Enter the most unlikely setting for a circus, a factory, where the workers are acrobats and the machines are circus props. Birdhouse Factory is a place where students will watch a contortionist perform on a turntable powered by unicyclists, where they will be captivated by the trapeze artist flying high (thanks to the spins of an acrobat inside a giant gear-like wheel) and where they will be stunned when trampoline wall artists defy the laws of physics virtually flying and walking on air. All the while students will be giggling at the antics of the comedic characters, impressed by the acro-dancing, and enchanted by the story of laughter, love, flight, and birdhouses. Tickets for groups of 10 or more are $10, individuals can purchase tickets for $14 by phoning 805-646-8907 or by visiting the
