La Colonia Boxers Attend Oxnard X-Mas Parade
Contributed by: Manuel Herrera on 12/3/2007

Well, it's that time of the year again. A time that allows the community to both watch and participate in a fun and festive community event. It's time for the 2007 Oxnard Christmas Parade. This year La Colonia P.A.L. Boxing Club was honored to showcase its talented young boxers and its future World Champions. Two of La Colonia's hottest prospects in the parade were Miguel Angel Garcia 10-0 8 KO's and Javier "Pelos" Garcia 2-0 2 KO's. This event was a great opportunity for the fans to see and meet their future champions and to be proud of the success of this non-profit organization that is run by the Oxnard Police Activities League. Much of the success is due to head coach and former World Champ Robert Garcia and his assistant coach Fransisco "Paco" Navarro. La Colonia P.A.L. boxing club has been in existence for over 40 years and has produced two World champions, two Olympians as well as countless National, Silver Glove, Golden Gloves and Jr. Olympic champions. As this year comes to an end, La Colonia P.A.L. boxing club looks forward to another successful year in 2008 by keeping kids off the street and making them champions in and out of the ring. Thank you Oxnard for another GREAT and FUN Christmas parade....
