The Oxnard College Theatre Arts Club debut of "Stage Monologues" on November 16th and 17th was well received by the community in Oxnard.
Mario Arana Jr, Veronica Truong, and Sergio Lagunas performed several scenes from "Racist" a play written by Carlos Macen, a student at Oxnard College.
Tiana Shisler and Jose Fortanel performed the balcony scene from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.
In addition, the students performed other monologues which they had written for this particular performance.
"We are so excited about having theater at Oxnard College being that we lost our theater arts department four years ago," Macen said.
"We are going to give 100% of a donation from Kane and Kerper Dentistry as scholarship money to the actors," Macen added.
The Theatre Arts Club is looking for volunteers for an upcoming talent show. Please call Carlos Macen at (805) 612-3043 for more information.
