Arroyo Clean-up Day-aka:Keep Simi Shining!

What:	This annual (free!) event is a great way to get outdoors, enjoys our beautiful City, and help keep Simi Valley not only one of the safest cities, but also one of the most beautiful. In just three hours, volunteers of all ages come down to the Simi Arroyo and pick up miscellaneous trash items. Last year several tons were collected and hauled off. No specials talents are required. Volunteers must be able to walk and bend far enough to pick up paper, cans and plastic. This is a low-effort, feel-good activity that benefits the City, as well as keeping our ocean clean of wastes that would otherwise be washed down to the beaches. And, believe it or not, there is no charge for this healthy exercise! And if those weren't enough incentives, our sponsors even feed the volunteers a hearty lunch when the morning concludes. The annual event is organized by our City's Neighborhood Councils. Local sponsors contribute water, food and safety equipment. The only things volunteers need to bring are comfortable work clothes, sturdy shoes and a hat. Last year a few hundred folks came out to beautify the Arroyo. Please come out to make this year's event an even more successful and fun day. Thanks.
