Volunteers Needed for Simi Valley Days Parade
Contributed by: Terry Marvin on 8/21/2007

(Simi Valley, CA) August 21, 2007 - Volunteers are needed for the 75th annual Simi Valley Days Parade. This year's parade is scheduled for Saturday, September 15, with a start time of 9:00 a.m. Several volunteer slots need to be filled, including chairperson positions, judges, spotters and parade lineup coordinators. "It requires about 30 to 40 volunteers to man this parade. And, because we are marking the 75th anniversary for this annual event, we are expecting more parade entries than in past years," said Simi Valley Days Parade chairman, Robert Noorigian.

The parade is a favorite of local residents and draws crowds in the thousands each year. Local businesses, churches, service organizations, law enforcement agencies, service men and women, children's organizations, such as the YMCA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and local dignitaries are among the annual parade entrants.

The parade route travels along Los Angeles Ave starting at Erringer Rd and ends at Sinaloa. "This is just a fun parade for the community and the residents of Simi Valley look forward to the parade every year," said Mr. Noorigian. The annual parade is part of the Simi Valley Days celebration and carnival, which runs September 12 - September 16.
