More than 110 golfers participated in the Simi Valley Education Foundation's recently held
Tee Up for Kidz Golf Tournament at Lost Canyons Golf Course to help raise more than $27,000- a new record!!
"This tournament is about bringing the Simi Valley community together for good fun and a good cause," said Kevin Underwood, Chair of the Golf Tournament. The golf tournament raises money for the direct benefit of all the public schools in Simi Valley."
The monies raised help provide the funding for the Foundation's programs. These include: Enhancement Grants for teachers and schools that will enrich the current curriculum; Matching School Funds -- this program provides a $7.00 per student annual matching grant at all secondary schools; Scholarships for graduating high school seniors; and Partners in Education -- a program that provides scholarships for staff professional development.
This year's Tournament Chair, Kevin Underwood, planned a few new surprises for our players. Players had the opportunity to have a pro drive for them at one hole, participate in a 50/50 raffle at another and enjoy food and goodies from our Hole Sponsors.
The tournament would not have been a success without our numerous sponsors who share the same goals and vision for the community.
