Families are invited to come and see Santa Claus at the historic Santa Susana Railroad Depot and Museum. Santa will be visiting with children, hearing their wishes for Christmas, and passing out candy canes.
Two dates are scheduled for this holiday event; Saturday, December 15 and Sunday, December 16 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Santa Susana Railroad Depot and Museum, 6503 Katherine Road, Simi Valley in the Santa Susana Knolls area. Should you have trouble finding the museum, call (805) 581-3462 during the event for directions.
This annual visit by Santa is sponsored by the Rancho Simi Foundation in conjunction with the Simi Valley Care & Share program and Girl Scout Cadet Troop #118. Visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the Care & Share Christmas Basket Program. The donations are greatly appreciated and help provide Christmas for hundreds of local families in need.
The depot is owned by Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. For information on booking group tours, contact Colleen Janssen at (805) 584-4453 or by e-mail at
colleen@rsrpd.us. Group tours can be scheduled year-round. Also, the depot is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays year-round from 1-4 pm. There is no charge for tours, but a donation to the museum to fund the restoration of the depot and other projects is appreciated.
