'Lil Kickers Soccer League At Simi YMCA

Sign-ups are underway for the Simi Valley Family YMCA's co-ed 'Lil Kickers Arena Soccer League. The season runs from March 31 through May 19.

Teams are formed based on age. The Y-Rookies league is for kids ages four and five. The Y-Winners league is for kids five through eight. No tryouts are necessary and everyone participates.

"Kids learn the fundamentals of soccer and teamwork," says Dave DeMaio, youth sports and parent-child programs director at the Simi Y. "Soccer is also a great opportunity for kids to spend time outdoors and exercise."

Practices and Saturday games will be at the Simi Valley Family YMCA (3200 Cochran St., corner of Cochran and Galena). The cost is $120 ($110 for program members and $100 for YMCA members).

Participants receive a uniform, trophy and team picture.
