And you Ventura? What will you (all citizens) of this fine town do to make it a better place? I am always astounded by the lack of awareness in those around us. People have very little self awareness regarding their impact on others in their daily lives. Have you ever wondered what possess two people to stop at the bottom of an escalator and carry on a conversation that blocks the exit off of the escalator and stops other people from being able to get off the escalator? Or how about the person driving up Victoria, approaching Telephone Rd, and then decides they want to turn left - they never signal that they want to get over from the middle lane - and I am supposed to read their mind that they want to get over? Anyway, I can relate everyday occurences that make me scratch my head and wonder if these folks have any awareness of what they are doing ... then I realize that they are citizens of this community and probably don't think twice about what they do to it. I see people all the time walk past a piece of paper that could be deposited in a trash receptacle, yet they make no effort to do so ....why? Apathy. that's why ... someone else will pick it up .... I am in too big of a hurry .... well folks, let me be the one to tell you, that if you don't take a moment to pause and step outside of your own little universe, you will have no place to be going .... all it takes is a moment to take action ... make a difference in your work place and in your neighborhood. Think about being a force for positive things in the world ...
