They Put What in my Water?

They put What in my Water?

So there I was perusing my regular intellectual reading material, you know the Ventura County Star, the Los Angeles Times, People Magazine etc, and I ran across something about Fluoride and how it is actually a byproduct of materials used to prepare fertilizers and other industrial products, it was costing corporations millions of dollars per year to dispose of this Fluoride byproduct bio-hazard, until they convinced people that by adding it to our drinking water, toothpaste, and other food products it would eliminate tooth decay. Now what actually was eliminated was the cost to the corporations to dispose of it.

It is used in rat and cockroach poison also, and is thought by scientists to have definite links to brain damage, IQ deficits, learning disorders, bone damage and much more. Fluoride is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration for human consumption. It has also been recognized lately that tooth decay in young children has almost become an epidemic.

Now I recalled that a few years ago the city of Ventura was looking into the possibility of going along with the majority of cities in the United States and start adding Fluoride to our drinking water. At that time I wrote a couple of articles explaining how the addition of Fluoride in water given to children under 5 years old actually caused a disease called Fluorosis and brown spots on the teeth. Plus by adding Fluoride to our water what they were doing was illegally medicating the public with a known carcinogen.

So I contacted Mr Mike Oakley, Water Treatment Supervisor for the city of Ventura and asked him directly if the city was adding Fluoride to our drinking water. He sent me an e-mail telling me that the city did not add any Fluoride to our water however the water that we do get already contains 0.4 parts per million of natural occurring Fluoride. It does seem that a natural substance that small really wouldn't cause any problems, however some people believe that natural occurring Fluoride does cause mottled coloring in teeth and is considered a pollutant. If you are concerned about this natural Fluoride in your water it can be removed by a process called reverse osmosis, which is readily available for homes.
