The Buzzards Return to Oak View
Contributed by: Richard Senate on 11/21/2007

Just as the swallows return each spring to San Juan Capistrano so do the buzzards return to Oak View. These grand and majestic birds take roost in Oak View every December in a large tree across from the Oak View Market and they have for many years. I counted 16 of the oversized birds glaring down at people from their roost. When they take to the air with their broad winds they fly in circles around hapless pedestrians walking down highway 33. You can almost see the gleam in their eyes, just hoping someone will drop dead so they can feast. If you should drive through Oak View--keep a sharp eye for the buzzards of Oak View.
