The Ojai Valley - some times referred as California's
Shangri-la
- makes a perfect day trip for Camarillo residents. In November, the annual Holiday Home Look In is a perfect reason to make an excursion right before the hustle and bustle of the season. Presented by the Ojai Festival Women's Committee, the Holiday Home Look In showcases distinctive Ojai Valley homes and is scheduled for November 17 and 18, promising to offer inspiration, enjoyment, and surprises.
This year's home tour which celebrates its eleventh year will include another eclectic mix of local treasures located in various areas of thepicturesque valley -- Cathy's Oaks: A restored Spanish revival home, located in the Arbolada, designed by world-renowned architect George Washington Smith; Omaggio Farm: Located on the bucolic east end of Ojai, this picturesque property is also the home of Regalo Olive Oil; Hawks Haven: A newly built home designed by Ojai architect Marc Whitman; Haley Ranch: one of Ojai Valley's hidden historic treasures.
In addition to touring the homes, guests have an opportunity to shop at a holiday boutique, featuring Ojai artisans and vendors. Holiday entertainment is also provided at selected homes throughout the day.
"The Festival is grateful for the Ojai Festival Women's Committee's continued support . Not only is the Holiday Home Look-In a well-organized and successful event, but it is another way the Festival attracts out of town guests to visit Ojai" says Festival Executive Director Jeff Haydon.
The Holiday Home Look In, November 17 and 18 from 10am to 4:30 pm, supports the Ojai Music Festival and its education program. Advance tickets are $25 per person, and may be purchased by calling the Ojai Music Festival at (805) 646-2094 or online at www.OjaiFestival.org. (Day of event tickets are $30 per person.) Organizers request no cameras allowed on the tour nor children under 12 years of age. Comfortable shoes are highly recommended (no high-heeled shoes allowed). Complimentary shuttle vans will be provided to Cathy's Oaks. For more information on the Holiday Home Look In, visit the Festival web site at www.OjaiFestival.org
