Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) in Ventura will be hosting a blood drive with United Blood Services on Sunday, September 2nd. Along with all of the other organizations and businesses that sponsor blood drives in Ventura County, United Blood Services (UBS) would like to thank TLC for choosing UBS.
UBS Provides 100% of the blood used at Ventura County's hospitals. When blood is donated at a UBS Center or mobile blood drive, the local hospital patients benefit. On occasion, blood banks that are based outside of Ventura County will contact local blood drive organizers who, with good intentions, host blood drives with these other organizations. When an out-of-area blood bank draws blood in Ventura County, the blood goes back with them to other communities and, over time, the local blood supply could suffer.
TLC has made the choice to support UBS and the local hospital patients who may be in need of a life-saving blood transfusion. "This congregation is all about sharing our gifts (spiritual and otherwise) with each other and this community," says TLC Parish Administrator, Nancy Graham.
United Blood Services has centers in Ventura, Camarillo and Thousand Oaks and mobile blood drives throughout Ventura County. If you are interested in becoming a blood donor or hosting a blood drive you can contact United Blood Services at 800-715-3699.
