Local Bands Invited to Perform at Civic Arts Plaza

Eighth Annual Rock Concert of the Community's Teenagers, by the Community's Teenagers and for the Community's Teenagers

"Rock the Oaks" is back! The eighth annual concert featuring local bands performing for Conejo Valley teens will be held at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza's Janet & Ray Scherr Forum Theatre at 7:30 pm on February 29, 2008.

"Rock the Oaks 8", sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation, offers local bands a chance to showcase their original music and gain exposure to the public at a major venue.

The Thousand Oaks Youth Commission is currently looking for four local bands to perform 30 minutes each of original music at the concert. All musical styles/genres will be considered. Information and applicationscan be downloaded from www.toaks.org and are available at the Information Desk on the second level of City Hall and the Civic Arts Plaza Box Office located on the third level of City Hall or at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center.

Application deadline for "Rock the Oaks 8" is 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007. The Youth Commission will review applications and demo tapes or CDs to determine audition candidates following the application deadline.
