Michael J and The Mighty Cash Cats Tribute to the Man in Black, Johnny Cash will be a featured performer on Thursday, Nov 1, 2007 at Oxnard High, 3400 W Gonzales at a benefit Concert to help fund the Oxnard High Band. Show time starts at 7 pm. Channel 6 will be there taping the show for broadcast.
This past summer The Mighty Cash Cats "Walk the Line" Tour took them coast to coast and the rave reviews are in. Fairs and Festivals magazine called them "America's best Tribute to the man in Black, Johnny Cash. Their audiences range from teens to seniors." The Casper Wyoming Star Tribune wrote that"The Mighty Cash Cats is as close as you can get to the real thing." This past month they headlined E! Entertainment TV's Santa Monica Fall Festival and E! TV President, Jeff Shore commented that "It was like Johnny and his band were actually on stage." They were the featured band at San Diego Oktoberfest 2007 and in Sept they traveled to Salt Lake City and sold out the 2500 seat Scera Shell Amiptheater. At the St Mary Magdalen, Camarillo, Fiesta earlier this month, event coordinator Joe Burgos wrote that " I want to thank The Mighty Cash Cats. Your performance was phennomenal! The audience was able to imagine what it was like to be sent back in time to hear Johnny Cash. We hope you will come back next year." After a Concert on Catalina on Oct 27, The Mighty Cash Cats will be back on Tour in November with stops in Tempe, Phoenix, El Mirage and Prescott, AZ
"The Mighty Cash Cats high energy upbeat show takes the audience on a musical journey from Johnny's 1950's, 60's 70's and 80's hits we all know and love up to his final Rick Ruben produced "American Recordings"tunes of the 1990's and 2000's. Included are fun Johnny and June Carter duets with Michael J and Amy Harrington. Michael J embodies Johnny Cash in both voice and look and Amy does a spot on June Carter. If you are not a Johnny Cash fan before the Show, you will be after." The Voice
Tickets are available at the door and on the bill will be outstanding R&B group, "Enuff Said". Please come out and support this worthwhile cause.
