The Steve Capelli Memorial Golf Foundation, having received non-profit status due to the restructuring of the decades old Port Hueneme Harbor Days, is about to hold its annual charity golf tournament.
The late Steve Capelli was a former golf pro with Evergreen Alliance Golf, who proudly manage Los Robles Greens, Olivas Links and Buenaventura golf courses. Steve's family, along with EAGL, have put on a yearly golf tournament in his memory since 2003. All proceeds from the tournaments go to Ventura County families who have been affected by cancer.
"This year besides our donation to the Cancer Hope Foundation we will be making and distributing fleece blankets and pillows to cancer patients," says Cheryl Soper, a board member of the foundation. "We are looking forward to another fun and successful tournament and invite everyone to play." A silent auction will also be part of the day. Participants can bid on golf products and rounds of golf at a variety of courses, to name a few.
This year's tournament will be held Sunday October 28 th 7:30am shotgun start at Los Robles Greens, 299 S. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks, CA. The format will be a two-man Ryder Cup style and will include cart, games, prizes and trophies. Lunch will also be included. Fee is $150.00 per player or $275.00 per team if registered by Oct. 22nd. After Oct 22nd fees will be $175.00 per player and $300.00 per team. Don't play golf and would like to sponsor a hole? We will provide a sign to advertise your business or honor a loved one for a $150.00 donation. All donations are tax deductible.
